“You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old.” George Burns
(a quote Leo lives by)
Happy 65th Birthday, Leo
Leo always tells people who turn 65 that they have made it to the speed limit, so hence, this card. I am not sure how long it has been since we have given each other gifts on birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas, but it has been many years now. We are not ones who want much, so quite frankly it came to the point that we just bought something just to give a gift until we finally said this is silly. Then a few Christmases ago, we bought cards for the whole family in Walmart (fairly inexpensive, right?) and the bill was about $50.00. We looked at each other and said, “I don’t think so”. We decided to never buy a card for each other, but we would make one instead. I wish we had done that years ago. The cards are so much more meaningful and of course with technology it made it easier to make something creative without being an artist. (Thank you, Google Images). The card above is my try at this year’s birthday card. Tonight we are going out for dinner with friends (something we both love to do) . Our favorite restaurant here is Puerto Vallarta in Middletown, CT, a Mexican Restaurant. (Mexico is getting further south, with a Latin Flavor, but it is not Ecuador.) Too many days to go and still counting.
