Day 3

“One of the delights of life is eating with friends, second to that is talking about eating. And, for an unsurpassed double whammy, there is talking about eating while you are eating with friends.”
Laurie Colwin ‘Home Cooking’

Today we went with Wendy and Neil to see their property that they plan to build  a house on. We took a taxi there. He waited while we got out and looked around and took pictures. As you can tell from the pictures, this lot is spectacular. It is on a slope and the house will be 3 levels including the pool.

Beautiful views.

Afterwards, we went to “Cocktail Alley”. We had caipirinhas and a snack that was a plantain based flour bread baked with shrimp and corn inside of it. They cut it down the middle and put in peanut sauce. It was very good.

We walked along the beach back to the apt. We rested before going to dinner.

There are several expats here in Playas. One of the expats set up pizza at one of the local restaurants downtown. Another couple, Christina and Greg who live past the mall, walked down and picked up Wendy, Neil and us. They are very nice. She is Chinese but lived in Austrailia and her husband lived in Australia. They bought  a house on the internet sight unseen. Below is a picture of the people we met.

At dinner we had pizza, salad, beer, and wine. The conversation was great and the people were very friendly. Christina said that they were planning a ladies night out soon and invited me to go. Everyone is very welcoming. We ate outside and the street we ate on was very busy with people walking by, couples, families, etc. Across the street behind one of the buildings, someone was setting off fireworks. No special occasion. Just another Saturday night.

  1. So nice to see you are making so many friends already. I am sure everyone is delighted to see new people arrive.

    • Thanks,Christian. We did arrive safely, but I miss your Mom. Nothing can replace her. I will miss those backyard parties she gives that are so much fun. Hope all is well with you. Hope Ms. Right is around the corner.
