Excitement on the Beach

Today we had some excitement on the beach. We heard  a helicopter outside the windows. We looked out and we saw the helicopter skimming low just above the water. We figured someone was in trouble in the water. Then we saw a man drop out of the helicopter, so we thought he was rescuing someone. We saw a boat in the area where the man was swimming, so we still thought it was a man overboard. Eventually, we realized that it was a practice session for the military. The helicopter has dropped 3 sets of people into the water and they have had to swim to shore. The boat is there to rescue anyone of the people who might have trouble getting to shore. It was kind of fun to watch.  We really do have a front row seat to the going-ons of the area.

  1. Interesting—seems like they’re not too far from shore. They cold have brought them out by boat and saved a lot of fuel (*_*)

    • They don’t have to worry too much about fuel, it’s about $1.30 a gallon. Also, maybe they were practicing jumping from the helicopter. Who know?

      • You are so right! Wow fuel is a real bargain at $1.30. I remember watching military practice at the Cape—it was very interesting to watch. You’re so fortunate to be so close to the sea–it must be interesting as well as beautiful .

        • So far. there has been a regular thing or two going on at the beach to amuse us, so we have enjoyed it. Yesterday we went downtown and bought some plants and a big pot. I planted a palm, periwinkles, and a trailing plant. Everything is small now, but if it is anything like FL, they will be big in no time. We are trying to put together our upper deck.
