Saturday night we went to the La Loma Restaurant with Jane and Michael. We were going to get a bus to their house, but Alberto came by in his tuk tuk, so we got in. He took us to Jane and Michael’s house.
At Jane and Michael’s we sat and drank wine, cerveza and ate Brie cheese and crackers. Yum. We yacked until we realized that Jimmy, the taxi cab driver was late. Leo gave him a call and we waited another 15 minutes for him to arrive. Welcome to Ecuador. He took us up to La Loma. I swear the road is getting worse every time we go up there. As we approached the restaurant, we realized that there were at least 7 people paragliding over the ocean beside the restaurant. The sight was beautiful. As we hung out a while the sunset came into play and now the sight of the paragliders with the sunset backdrop was spectacular. We took numerous pictures and video. Finally we settled down and began to order our food. Jane and Michael ordered a plate to share, because they are very large portions, but when they brought their meal, it looked like two regular orders. Leo ordered shrimp and I ordered the hamburger with fries. You just can’t get a good burger in Ecuador, so this was a treat. We talked with Jim, the owner, and he said they are having bands and a big day on New Year’s Day, so I imagine we will be there. Jane and Michael with be having a visit from Jane’s daughter and boyfriend soon, so they will be bringing them to La Loma New Year’s Day.
Below is a video of the paragliders:
