Trip to Manta

Michael and Marlene invited us to go to Manta with them-in a car. Love it when I do not have to take a bus in this heat. We were excited because Plastic Lopez was on the agenda and I love that place. I needed to get some plastic pots for the plants we bought for the patio. Near Plastic Lopez was the Central Market, so we took a look-see there. Marlene stood outside and waited, because she could not handle the smell in there. Michael was looking for a sign so we did some look for that around Manta. We also stopped at the Government Building to get Michael’s Movement Document he needs to get his new passport with all the right stamps. He usually hires, Richard, to go with him, but since Leo speaks Spanish, he could help. If he had his passport with him, Leo could have helped him with the final step.

We went to El Paseo Shopping Center to have lunch. There was a Carl’s Jr. Hamburger Restaurant there, so being hamburger deprived we all had the combo. It was very good. I had never eaten in a Carl’s Jr. before in the states, but it was a good burger. All the expats here have been talking about it. Just about everyone I know has eaten there now. Then we headed home.
